The Basic Education Department says it’s increasing security to ensure there are no exam paper leaks as more than 780,000 pupils are registered to sit for this year’s national senior certificate exams.
Education officials visited Reiger Park Secondary to check on the school’s readiness for the finals.
The 2018 National Senior Certificate exams are in full swing.
There was some excitement in the air, coupled with nervousness inside the Reiger Park Secondary School’s exam centre.
The basic education minister visited the pupils to wish them well.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says security around the exam papers has been beefed up to avoid any leaks.
Unions say teachers have also done everything they can to prepare the pupils.
A clinical psychologist says it’s important that pupils make time to relax during this period.
