DNA results have confirmed the decomposed body found in Phoenix, in Durban is that of missing nine-year-old Miguel Louw.
Miguel was allegedly kidnapped in July while returning home from school.
A 43-year-old family acquaintance, Mohammed Ebrahim, has been arrested and faces human trafficking charges.
The little boy’s body was found last week by a private security company near Ebrahim’s home while security officers were chasing robbers in an unrelated case.
Ebrahim has been granted bail, but has been unable to make the payment and remains in custody.
