The police in Mpumalanga have deployed over a hundred Special Task Team police officers in areas affected by the recent scourge of violent criminal activities.
The recruits will form part of Operation Shanela and operate in the Pienaar, Masoyi, and Marite areas. These areas have been affected by violent crimes, including the killing of women and children.
A parade occurred in Pienaar yesterday, where the officers received a brief from Mpumalanga’s Acting Police Commissioner Major General Zephania Mkhwanazi and Community Safety and Community Liaison MEC Jackie Macie before their deployment.
