We have South African rands in a form of R200 notes and R100 notes and also fake UDS dollars,” said police spokesperson Captain Daniel Mavimbela.
“Three men between the ages of 18 and 40 were arrested at this place following a tip-off, soon as our members arrived they searched the premises ad at the garage recovered a substantial amount of suspected counterfeit money.”
The discovery has left neighbours in shock
Some say the three men worked for a printing company and have lived in the building for several years.
The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
Police are investigating how the notes were produced and where they were to have been distributed.
