In a post on Instagram, she said that her culture is ‘often perceived as that of a minority group and my people are sometimes ridiculed for their complexion or how our language sounds’.
She said she celebrates Venḓa culture by speaking TshiVenḓa and wearing traditional attire on TV, and that she hopes to inspire other young people to also embrace their culture.
