Shauwn Mkhize under scrutiny following alleged assassination plot against SARS official

Shauwn Mkhize

Shauwn Mkhize faced widespread criticism from social media users following an assassination attempt on Coreth Naudé, a senior advocate at the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Naudé was shot three times shortly after leaving a tax inquiry involving Mkhize on July 18th. She is currently in intensive care, and the incident, which occurred near Gateway shopping center, is being investigated with the perpetrator still at large.

Edward Kieswetter, Commissioner of SARS, strongly condemned the assassination attempt, as reported by Vehicle Trackers. On social media, Mkhize trended as netizens speculated on her involvement in the incident.

One Twitter user linked Mkhize’s background, stating, “Shauwn Mkhize was nurtured by #eThekwini for many years & by the KZN ANC through patronage networks/awarding of contracts. An advocate working with SARS to secure unpaid taxes from her dodgy activities is fighting for her life after an assassination attempt. Join the dots.”

Another tweet highlighted the timing of the attack, mentioning, “The attempted hit comes 488 days after the double murder of Cloete Murray & his son Thomas. Murray Snr & Naude’ worked together for years on the same matter she was in Dbn for-the tax inquiry of Shauwn Mkhize” Yho.”
