UDM Deputy President Rescued After Abduction in Cape Town, Confirms Holomisa

UDM Deputy President Rescued

The Deputy President of the United Democratic Movement (UDM), Nqabayomzi Kwankwa, has been abducted and subsequently rescued in Cape Town, according to UDM leader Bantu Holomisa.

Holomisa stated that Kwankwa was kidnapped while en route to the airport on Tuesday. He confirmed that a ransom of R10,000 was demanded and paid, following which Kwankwa was safely recovered at a police station in Khayelitsha.

During the ordeal, Kwankwa’s vehicle and personal belongings were taken, but the car was later discovered abandoned. Holomisa expressed relief at Kwankwa’s survival, emphasizing the urgency of the situation and the decision to swiftly comply with the ransom demand to ensure his safety.

“We are grateful that he is unharmed. We acted promptly to save his life as anything could have happened. We did not want to risk delay in paying the ransom, especially after speaking directly with him on the phone. He warned us that any delay could have resulted in a tragic outcome,” Holomisa stated.
