A cousin of Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema has been implicated in the VBS bank money trail.
The Mail and Guardian newspaper is reporting that a series of payments link Floyd Shivambu’s brother, Brian, to Malema’s cousin.
The paper reports that the payments, totalling more than R5-million, were made between last June and February this year from a company owned by Brian Shivambu, to a company owned by Malema’s cousin, Matsobane Phaleng.
According to the Mail and Guardian, the payments range between R500, 000 and R1-million.
A report into looting at VBS reveals Brian Shivambu received R16-million in gratuitous payments.
He insists his hands are clean.
The @mailandguardian is a joke!

He got 16mil and gave DP 10mil, EFF 1,3mil and now my cousin 5,9mil. You do the calculations.

I need to check with my brother’s neighbor’s cousin if Brian Shivambu didn’t deposit R2.6mil in her account, in case @mailandguardian comes after me. Seems that Brian Shivambu has enough to give all of us something. That R16mil is nowhere near being finished
