The South African Municipal Workers Union says West Rand Municipality workers’ are behind payments to third-party creditors by three months.
Employees on Wednesday locked in the executive including the mayor and municipal manager demanding their salaries be paid
The municipality has been named in the VBS forensic report and invested millions in the bank.
A Samwu official said banks have been calling workers about payments.
