One such connection is that of rapper Gigi Lamayne. In addition to Pro being a mentor of sorts to the young rapper, Pro was the older brother of her boyfriend, DJ Citi Lyts (real name, Sandile Mkhize).
Not much was known about ProKid’s connections to the industry when he was still alive but in the wake of his death, we were learning more and more about the rapper and those he held near and dear.

She wrote: Everybody knows what you meant to me. What you did for Us. I remember you forcing people to cheer for me during our first tour together. You promised my parents you’d have my back forever and you did just that. From battling each other to vibing to Biggie and Hov. PROMkhize
Calling me Lil Kim and reminding me how cruel the world was. You got my first song on the radio! Are you serious Linda? If it not all enough that we were all going through so much? Your brother is broken. The members of MFE and Dankie San? We are broken.
The members of MFE and Dankie San? We are broken. Please ask the man upstairs to help cushion the blow to our hearts. Bhudi wam. Kubhlungu. My heart was ripped from me yesterday when we arrived .. I can’t…
Remember how we used to laugh at my home studio but you still recorded there. I’m mad at you Promkhize. May God will be done. Protect Sandile too. He isn’t coping. The industry robbed you but the people loved you! Long live the KING OF SOWETO!
ProKid was laid to rest on Sunday and various celebrities were in attendance. Gigi shared one final message to the late rapper by posting a photo of the two of them together and captioned it: “Till we meet again Biggie. Lil Kim signing out ….. fin.”
