Mourners gathered outside HHP’s house in Randburg

It was emotions of sadness and grief outside Jabulani Tsambo’s home in Randburg, Johannesburg as many gathered to pay respect to him following his untimely death.

Popularly known as HHP, the hip-hop artist died on Wednesday.

Many described him as a person with a warm and welcoming heart who was passionate about uplifting other artists.

Amongst those who were at the home were his producer Thabiso “Thasman” Tsotetsi who was very emotional about the passing of Tsambo.

Tsotetsi said he could not comment much at this stage as he was still in shock. 

Veteran local rapper Amukelani Tshane, known as Amu, was also amongst those who stood outside the home in disbelief.

“He had a very good. I will miss his smile. He was a colleague, my competitor in the field and he was a guy I worked with, he was a friend and a brother to me,” Amu said.

He said the last time he had spoken to HHP was when they were at Pro Kid’s tribute concert in Soweto.

“The last time I was at the house was probably four months ago, we always kept in touch,” he said.

Motswako artist Thebe Lekhonkhobe popularly known as Lection, said it was important for people to remember HHP as a person who uplifted other artist to become the best they could be.

“We’ve known each other for close to a decade. People must never forget that “Jabba was all about uplifting other people. He was all about giving the torch to other people…,” Lekhonkhobe said.

He said news of HHP’s death came as a shock to him because he talked to him on Wednesday morning.

“I was talking to him just this morning, and then a couple of hours later it’s this…,” Lekhonkhobe said.
