Despite not successfully defending her Olympic Games 200 meters breaststroke title, South Africa’s Tatjana Smith is now the country’s most decorated Olympian.
The 27-year-old from Johannesburg finished second in the final at the Paris Olympic Games behind Kate Douglass of the United States. Douglass clocked two minutes, 19.24 seconds, 0.36 of a second quicker than Smith’s time.
The South African, who won the 100 meters breaststroke gold on Monday, has now won two gold and two silver medals at two Olympic Games.
