Justice Minister Michael Masutha is cleaning up the State Attorney’s office.
The office is facing wide-ranging corruption allegations.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has ordered a Special Investigating Unit probe into the claims.
Masutha said there will be consequences for those involved.
“The investigation will help lay to rest concerns raised by members of the public the legal fraternity and other government departments,” Masutha said.
“Where appropriate and in addition to the SIU investigation disciplinary action and criminal investigations will be initiated against alleged perpetrators to ensure firm action is taken to uproot corruption.”
