The formation of the Beam Group brought about hope and change in the local music scene. An array of artists can attest to the notion of mismanagement of their funds by the powers that be. However, rapper extraordinaire, Kiernan Forbes, who is popularly known as AKA in these streets caused traffic this past couple of days after announcing on Twitter that he is indeed in the process of shutting down his company, due to undisclosed reasons.

However, things have taken a rather interesting tide as AK’s close friend and music collaborator, JR, has chimed in, offering to buy the rapper’s company, Beam Group. The masses are waiting to see if JR’s offer is genuine or not.
Lemme buy it. https://t.co/Qzk9ljJaao

The birth of AKA’s management company saw him taking both creative and financial power back in his hands. He therefore assembled his dream team, appointing various people to perform specific mandates. However things have spiralled out of control for the rapper, forcing him to resort to shutting down his company.
Some tweeps were left devastated by AKA’s announcement.
Hearing @akaworldwide say Beam Group is closing business kinda sucks, because I was really looking forward to seeing more local hip hop artists becoming business moguls – outside of just making music.
