A Durban businessman who called President Cyril Ramaphosa the K-word in a video clip posted on Facebook has apologised to the president.
Nair was arrested last Wednesday and appeared in the Verulum Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He faces charges of crimen injuria and incitement.
His family says he is physically and mentally unwell.
The prosecutor has referred Nair for mental observation based on affidavits received from his family.
The district surgeon who examined him said he is delusional.
The state wants to be certain that he can understand court proceedings before he can launch a bail application.
Nair told reporters at court that he doesn’t need mental evaluation.
